Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) Planning of Offshore and Marine Facilities

Introduction

The Oil and Gas offshore industry plays a critical role in driving the global economy.  Offshore and Marine Engineering projects are technically and commercially challenging. Good knowledge about the inspection and maintenance of offshore platforms and the competency of the project team members throughout the operation phase of projects are keys to the successful execution of these projects.

This training course aims to provide the participants with comprehensive knowledge of Offshore and marine facilities inspection and maintenance. As an offshore or marine engineer or manager, it is of paramount importance to have a clear understanding of the operation, inspection and maintenance requirements and techniques in the offshore, subsea and marine industries.

This training course will highlight:

  • Inspection techniques for fixed offshore platforms
  • Risk-based inspection of fixed offshore structures
  • Risk-based inspection of floating offshore installations
  • Inspection and maintenance of subsea systems
  • Next-Generation Subsea Inspection, Maintenance and Repair Operations
  • Inspection of FPSO and FLNG

Objectives

By the end of the course, participants will be able to know:

    • How to inspect above and below water offshore structures
    • Risk-based inspection of Hull Structures, Mooring Systems, and Riser Systems
    • Subsea inspection and maintenance techniques
    • Codes, standards, and regulations for inspection and operation of floating installations and FPSO and FLNG

Training Methodology

This is an interactive course. There will be open question and answer sessions, regular group exercises and activities, videos, case studies, and presentations on best practice. Participants will have the opportunity to share with the facilitator and other participants on what works well and not so well for them, as well as work on issues from their own organizations. The online course is conducted online using MS-Teams/ClickMeeting.
