Introduction
The course focuses on clarifying the importance of TMP as transportation not only provides for the mobility of people and goods but helps shape an area’s economic health and quality of life. The course demonstrates that the performance of TMPs affects public policy concerns like air quality, environmental resource consumption, social equity, land use, urban growth, economic development, safety, and security.
Transportation planning that recognizes the critical links between transportation and other societal goals and the planning process will be presented in detail. Developing TMP strategies for operating, managing, maintaining, and financing the area’s transportation system in such a way as to advance the area’s long-term goals will also be discussed. In addition, the course presents in full depth the strategies of work zones' impacts on TMPs and the current TMPs use examples and practices.
Objectives
The objective of this training course is to enhance participants` knowledge and experience as related to TMP basic issues such as; development of project plans, project implementation, and assessment. Participants will also gain knowledge about the process of TMP potential components, work zone impacts, and Current TMP use examples, and practices. The course also aims at developing the capability of participants to monitoring TMPs, writing TMPs evaluation reports, analyzing specific, and estimate TMP implementation costs.
Training Methodology
This is an interactive course. There will be open question and answer sessions, regular group exercises and activities, videos, case studies, and presentations on best practices. Participants will have the opportunity to share with the facilitator and other participants on what works well and not so well for them, as well as work on issues from their own organizations. The online course is conducted online using MS-Teams/ClickMeeting.
